Ford Transit The Ford Transit is a range of light commercial vehicles produced by Ford Motor Company since 1965. Sold primarily as a cargo van, the Transit is also built as a passenger van (marketed as the Tourneo since 1995), minibus, cutaway van chassis, and as a pickup truck.
As well as the power source, Transit Mk6 wiring diagrams usually contain at least the following components: starter, starter solenoid, relays, light, dimmer switch, instrument panel, engine control module, brake, dome light, parking light, turn signal, AC compressor, ignition, and reverse lights. Depending on the complexity of the job, some Re: Battery light on dash. I had this and it nearly drove me mad . I changed the alternator twice ,changed the plug on the end of the loom and went through every connection I could find. It was a broken wire within the loom on the corner of the block/head at the front near the belt tensioner ( FWD ) The outer plastic shroud and the insulation Re: Fitting Second earth cable on my mk7. by p1mark ยป Tue Jan 12, 2021 1:13 am. I had similar issue under bonnet you will see fuse and relay box and to the side of it jump start post if you lift overs off likely find corroded wires these will lead to starter motor. I just replaced a link wire with new crimp terminals.
Corrosion/damaged wiring to the alternators three-pin plug โ€˜senseโ€™ connection is a common cause for premature failure on Transit alternators. It is worth noting that the failure of the ignition relay will cause the battery light to stay on after the fitment of the new alternator.
Its an indication that the alternator may be the wrong size though. But don't panic. For the alternator to work it has to generate a magnetic field from its internal windings. This is created by the flow of electricity. The vehicle battery isn't always enough so additional current is required. Where do you get it? - From the alternator - Huh!!.
First diagnostic, the alternator donโ€™t charge the battery. My motorcaravan, had 3 year and just 41.000 km. In the mean time I wait for the final diagnostic of the dealer(but it's say's that's probably a alternator problem). It is normal problem for the Transit, with few km(41.000)? Anyone can help, tell about the possible causes of that problem?
