I'm at 40k miles with my original pads/rotors and the on board computer system said I have something like 12,000 miles left on the front and about 16,000 miles left on the rear.

BMW X3 m40i has about 20,000 miles and already needs new tires. Took my car to the dealership and they said I needed new tires soon. Dealer said people usually get 25,000 miles out of their tires on their M vehicles.
Note the comment in this article, that most brake pad companies and mechanics agree that pads typically last between 30,000 and 70,000 miles. Fronts tend to be 30K-50k, rears about 50K-60K. A number of BMW 3-series owners report typical life 30K front, 45k rear, yet you also read about 70K fronts and 95k rears in 3-series. What is considered high mileage for a BMW? While most BMW’s can last between 100,000 – 250,000 miles, high mileage is actually considered slightly lower than this. On average shocks and struts can last 5-10 years or 50,000-100,000 miles under ideal driving conditions. Many factors can affect the lifespan of these components to include: manufacturer, bad roads, heavy loads, towing, hard braking and aggressive driving. Table of Contents show.
How many miles should a BMW last? Almost any BMW has the potential to run for up to 200,000 or even 250,000 miles with proper maintenance–and there are always going to be outliers that go further. Since every new BMW includes complimentary factory-recommended maintenance through BMW Ultimate Care, it’s easy to start off on the right foot. BMWs are special vehicles and the newest models are engineered to use synthetic oils and fluids that require less changing than traditional oils. They're designed to last up to 12,000 and even 15,000 miles, roughly one driving year, between oil change intervals. Even your BMW owner's manuals recommend an oil change every 15,000 miles. Tie rods can last for years and years and some car owners may never have to replace them at all, but their longevity can be affected by certain driving conditions. Driving obstacles like potholes, poor road conditions or even minor accidents can cause tie rods to work incorrectly. Because of their importance and high usage, some people The only problem encountered in 18,000 miles was the “Info” button. The dealer changed it at the last service interval. I also had a small problem with a windshield holder screw. It screwed off. But that’s it. My BMW R1200GS proved to be a very reliable motorcycle. Keyless Ride – You must pick this option.
